Myth vs Fact #90

February 24, 2009 by dajjal
Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 13:41 See they not that We gradually reduce the land (of disbelievers, by giving it to the believers, in war victories) from its outlying borders. And Allâh judges, there is none to put back His Judgement and He is Swift at reckoning.
Tafsir
Bottom Line: Allah expands Dar al-Islam by shrinking Dar al-Harb by means of raids across borders, seizing territory. Learn, and know that this fatal fact is confirmed by Islamic law. I quote from Umdat as-Salik Book O, Chapter 24, Section 9, which lists 8 duties of local rulers under the Caliph.

-8- and if the area has a border adjacent to enemy lands, an eighth duty arises, namely to undertake jihad against enemies, dividing the spoils of battle among combatants, and setting aside fifth (def: o10.3) for deserving recipients.

This sample brings together the Qur'an, Tafsir & Shari'ah to make their congruent pattern unmistakable.  Your Muslim & Dhimmi readers will not be able to effectively contest the obvious facts.

Reliance of the Traveller Book O, Ch 9
The Law of Jihad: Umdat as-Salik Book O Chapter 9, Paragraphs 1-11. This one book contains most of what you need to compose pork packing blog posts. This is the one resource I depend upon most.

    I went to a little extra length:: I added links to the most important Qur'an citations.

@(O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad.

``We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.''

The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b7) is such Koranic verses as:

-1- ``Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216);

-2- ``Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89);

-3- ``Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36);

                                                                        and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and                                                                         give him peace) said:

    By now you must be wondering how I make those hyperlinks. I have a favorite Windows Utility  and I am sharing it with you.

URLGenerator

URLGenerator ver. 1.2 (1829KB)[Zipped] Updated to accomodate changes at USC. Maududi's Tafsir added to the list of sources. Bloggers best friend makes linking to Qur'an, Hadith & Tafsir easier. Requires Windows operating system. {Stored on, Box.net; download won't crash this site.}

URLGenerator User InterfaceThis little beauty is resizable, has tool tips for each control and both pop up text and topical help in a chm file.  It generates urls for:  the Qur'an & hadith collections at USC-MSA, Yet Another Qur'an Browser and Altafsir.com.

    It also generates urls for Ibn Kathir's Tafsir and Maududi's Tafsir. You select the source and enter the identifying numbers, it does the hard work.  You'll find many links in my blog posts and the ebooks on this site, they are made with this utility.

   Update 07/19/11: URLGenerator.exe has been updated. Three new resources have been added:
1. Islam Awakened, which displays a table of 37 parallel Qur'an translations.
2. Alim, which displays four Qur'an translations with commentary.  It also features several hadith collections and an excellent search engine.
3. Corpus Qur'an, an Arabic/English dictionary which displays a word by word breakdown of each verse.
Update 10/08/11 Tafsir.com seems to be down for the count; I switched to Islam-Universe for Tafsir Ibn Kathir. Everything else remains the same.

Update 11/03/11: Recent changes to the USC-MSA site broke links to the Qur'an & hadith collections. Qur'an links with this option now load the Surah, they do not link direct to the ayeh. Hadith are now linked to an alternative site with the same content.

ALinkMaker is for inserting links into blog comments and forums which accept but do not facilitate html or BBC code.

You enter the url, from the Generator, and the link text, then you decide which kind of link you need. The result is one button click away. The html links work in Wordpress and Blogger comments, they do not work in Bloggers base and  Intense Debate is inconsistent. ALinkMaker.exe (1.633MB Zipped)
